Visit the Jade Buddha Temple, one of the main touristic highlights in Shanghai and one of Shanghai's few active Buddhist monasteries still remaining. Then, tour the Yuyuan Garden, a classical, peaceful and comfortable garden in the heart of bustling Shanghai.
Day 1: Beijing (Meals: None) Your local guide will pick you up at the airport upon your arrival in Beijing and take you to your hotel. In the afternoon, you will visit Tiananmen Square, the world's largest public square and overview the communist influences. You'll tour the grounds and discover the halls and monuments. From there, you will walk to the Forbidden City, also known as the Imperial Palace Museum. With over 180 acres and a collection of great halls, you will see antiques and treasures representing all of China's history.
Day 2: Beijing (Meals: B, L) In the morning, you will visit the Olympic stadiums ("Bird's nest" and "Water cube") and take photos from outside. Then, your guide will take you to visit and climb the Great Wall and discover the Ming Tombs.
Day 3: Beijing - Xian (Meals: B, L) Transfer to the airport for flight to Xian. Then, you will visit the Xian City Wall. It is not only the most complete cit wall that has survived in China but also one of the largest ancient military defense systems in the world. You can choose to either walk or bike the walls, especially when the weather is nice, allowing you to enjoy Xian from a different pespective.
Day 4: Xian (Meals: B, L) Visit the Terracotrta Warriors and Horses Museum, where no two soldiers are alike, from the kneeling archer, to the standing archer, a cavalryman and a horse, a mid-ranking officer and a general. In the afternoon, visit the Great Mosque, one of the oldest, largest and best-preserved Islamic mosques in Chian, worth seeing for its mixed architecture, both traditional Chinese and Muslim styles.
In the evening, visit the Beiyan Men Islamic street, lined with Islamic shops, restaurants ans street vendors. This is a great place to stroll in, enjoy an authentic meal, shop and get a taste of traditional Muslim culture.
Day 5: Xian - Guilin (Meals: B, L) Your local guide will pick you up at the airport upon your arrival in Guilin and take you to our hotel. Then, visit teh Elephant Trunk Hill, regarded as the symbol of Guilin.
Day 6: Guilin (Meals: B, L) In the morning, visit the Reed Flute Cave, located five kilometers morthwest of downtown Guilin. This extraordinar cave features fantastic stalactite and stalagmite formations that are artfully illuminated by beautiful multicolored rock-concert lights. In the afternoon, visit the Mt. Yao by cable car, the highest mountain in the city.
Day 7: Guilin - Yangshuo (Meals: B, L) You will cruise the breathtaking Li River that meanders through valleys, bamboo groves and mysterious rock formations, passing along some of Southern China's most beautiful scenery. At the end of the cruise, you will reach the famous local town called Yangshuo, so well-known in China that it even enjoys more fame than the city of Guilin. You will go for a stroll in West Street (Xi Jie), brilliantly lit and explore the countryside. Stay overnight in Yangshuo.
Day 8: Yangshuo - Guilin - Shanghai (Meals: B, L) Transfer back to Guilin. Transfer to the airport for flight to Shanghai. In the afternoon, visit the Shanghai Oriental Pearl Tower. It is the tallest in Asia and the 3rd tallest in the world. In the evening visit the relax in Xintiandi, a complex that combines history, culture, tourism, food and beverage, business, entertainment and residences.
Day 9: Shanghai (Meals: B, L) In the morning, visit the Jade Buddha Temple, one of the main touristic highlights in Shanghai and one of Shanghai's few active Buddhist monasteries still remaining. Then, tour the Yuyuan Garden, a classical, peaceful and comfortable garden in the heart of bustling Shanghai.
In the afternoon, tour People's Square and then visit the Shanghai Museum.
