Fishman live along the river, on islands, they build their traditional houses, boats for a living. They trade on the river too which made many floating markets along the river. Nowadays, many roads are built to connect villages for better living condition, there are still some floating villages in Vietnam like Cai Be, Cai Rang, Phung Hiep… where local people trade as well remain their traditional works. Visiting the Mekong Delta you can plan for 1-day trip or up to 8 days overnight cruise trip along the river from Vietnam towards Cambodia or the other way around.
